The flamethrower is an extremely powerful close-range weapon which incerinates anything caught in its cloud of flame. It is generally difficult to find on net maps, as it unbalances the game for as long as the flamethrower-using player is alive.

The technical name for the flamethrower is the "TOZT-7 Napalm Unit".

Damage statistics

  • The Flamethrower does 8 to 12 hit points' worth of Flame-type damage.

Timing

  • The Flamethrower takes 30 ticks, or a second, to ready.

Ammunition

  • The Flamethrower has a clip of 210 bursts of flame.
  • A maximum of 3 napalm canisters can be carried, except on Total Carnage difficulty.

Rate of fire

  • The Flamethrower's attack takes 2 ticks, or 2/30 of a second, to completely finish.
  • It takes 60 ticks, or 2 seconds, to reload the Flamethrower.

Miscellaneous

  • The Flamethrower has a flash intensity of 0.75 brightness.
  • The Flamethrower has a flash decay of 10 ticks.
  • The Flamethrower has no theta error.

Tactics

Sneak up on your enemies and blast them with flame from behind; they'll be dead before you know it. If you are noticed, immediately switch to another weapon, as the flamethrower is easy to avoid by backpedalling.

Non-combative uses

On low-gravity levels, it is possible to use the flamethrower to fly by aiming at the ground and firing.
